"Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do."
- Bruce Lee
In 2015, I uploaded my first video on YouTube. Since then, my channel, The Barber’s Table, has amassed over 40,000 subscribers, with more than 215 educational videos and 3.8 million channel views. I’m now a licensed cosmetologist who has cut thousands of clients and generates a full-time income through barbering and educating people just like you.
All while controlling my own work schedule.
But it didn’t start out that way.
When I was just starting, I can’t even tell you the number of YouTube videos I watched to understand how to complete a fresh haircut. I studied every single video that told me even a little bit about something new. Over time, I tweaked the ideas of others and molded them to work best for me.
I always knew my haircuts could eventually be as nice as the people I saw online and in barbershops, but I needed a proper explanation for why and when I was supposed to do certain things. I spent hundreds of hours searching for answers to questions like:
- Where on the head should I start and why?
- How do I create a sharp hairline? How should I part the hair?
- How do I take out a bald line?
- How do I create smooth transitions?
And while those barbers helped me get started, I never quite got detailed answers from the videos I watched.
But I promised myself that once I figured out the reasoning behind each step in a haircut, I’d share that knowledge with any beginner barbers who also wanted to have full mastery over planning and completing a haircut.
And that’s exactly what The Barber’s System is all about.
No, it’s not the only way to cut hair, but it IS a fool-proof system, based on nine years of personal experience and hundreds of hours of learning. I’ve struggled to find a process that works so you won’t need to take nine years to reach where I am today.
The Barber’s System is a clearly organized, step-by-step guide that will show you, in crystal clear detail, exactly how to perform haircuts on both straight- and curly-hair clients. Keep reading to find out more about what this course includes, who it’s for, why it’s different, and how you can get started!
WHO IS THE BARBER’S SYSTEM FOR?
The most successful students will fall into one or more of these categories:
YOU’RE A BEGINNER AND YOU WANT TO CUT LIKE A PROFESSIONAL BARBER
You’ve wanted to create seamless haircuts like the ones you see on Instagram and YouTube. You’ve seen many different ways to cut hair, but you aren’t sure which process is the best to follow. This course provides a clear process that increases your speed and efficiency. You’ll be cutting like a professional in no time.
YOU’RE LOOKING FOR GUIDANCE TO IMPROVE YOUR HAIRCUTS
You have a strong desire to enhance your haircuts, but don’t know where to start or how to improve. You find yourself lost in the fade and have no idea where to go next. This course will give you the confidence and direction you need to change the way you think about haircutting so you can improve today.
YOU’RE FRUSTRATED WITH YOUR CURRENT HAIRCUTTING PROCESS
You might be in school or in a shop. Or maybe you're just thinking about doing one or the other. Either way, you'll learn to decrease your frustration and increase your confidence while cutting hair. That way you’ll be able to focus on connecting with clients. This course makes things simple.
SO HOW DO YOU ELIMINATE CONFUSION?
You follow a tried-and-true process from start to finish, every single time.
The Barber’s System includes guidance for handling straight- and curly-hair clients during every step of the haircut. I’ll start by helping you understand how to create the shape, or silhouette, of a haircut.
And then, once you’ve got that down, I’ll show you how to fade and blend using techniques like clipper-over-comb and scissor-over-comb.
After that, you’ll learn the concept behind hairlines and how to create crisp, symmetrical hairlines on any head. And by this point, you’ll already feel more confident when you pick up a clipper. You’ll understand your process, and you won’t have to guess where to start and finish.
But it doesn’t stop there, I’ll help you master crosschecking and refining your haircut. This is where you learn how to determine if you cut the hair evenly and make sure you don't leave any dark spots behind.
The final step will be learning how to finish and style your client so they leave your chair looking better than ever.
Simply put? It’s a system that WORKS.
